| Sparks re-elected to Justice Association board |
|
December 21, 2010 - Bardstown attorney Keith Sparks, a founding partner of the Bardstown law firm McCoy & Sparks, has once again been re-elected to the Board of Governors by the Kentucky Justice Association (KJA). The KJA is a statewide organization of attorneys dedicated to protecting citizens’ right to have their cases decided by juries, rather than corporate or special interest groups. Election to the Board is done on a statewide basis. Sparks has been a KJA member for more than 11 years and this his second successive year on the Board. ”It’s a great honor to be elected again to the Board of Governors,” Sparks said. “The KJA is one of the state’s largest and most influential legal organizations. We are committed to strengthening the court system by making sure the people of Kentucky have justice decided by juries, not corporate boards. We’re protecting citizens from the special interests groups that are trying to take away that right. I’m proud to support that cause. “ The Kentucky Justice Association was founded in 1954 and through the years has grown into an important, statewide voice for consumers. The KJA’s more than 1,400 members are committed to improving the quality of legal representation for Kentucky families by providing superior legal education and by keeping abreast of legislative and judicial proceedings. They help to educate citizens about their legal rights through its Speakers Bureau and other informative programs, publications and community service projects. The KJA Board of Governors manages the organization by setting its agenda and course. “I plan to keep up my involvement with the KJA’s legislative agenda. We’re working to ensure people don’t have their rights blocked or limited. People have to have protection against corporate and government abuses — and access to the courts is the most important protection that we have. Along with the other board members, I hope to continue to do my part to protect those rights,” Sparks said. McCoy & Sparks Attorneys, 212 West Stephen Foster Ave., Bardstown, focuses on personal injury and wrongful death cases. For more information, call 502-348-3971 or visit www.McCoyandSparks.com. |
