Sparks re-elected to Justice Association board

December 21, 2010 - Bardstown attorney Keith Sparks, a founding partner of the Bardstown law firm McCoy & Sparks, has once again been re-elected to the Board of Governors by the Kentucky Justice Association (KJA). The KJA is a statewide organization of attorneys dedicated to protecting citizens’ right to have their cases decided by juries, rather than corporate or special interest groups. Election to the Board is done on a statewide basis. Sparks has been a KJA member for more than 11 years and this his second successive year on the Board.

Death of Inmate Held on $34 Fine Prompts Investigation

Family turns to McCoy & Sparks for legal help.

WLKY reports: A Bullitt County woman died a week after being taken from the Bullitt County Detention Center to a hospital.Melissa Czaja was arrested and booked into the Bullitt County jail on an outstanding warrant for a 2008 traffic violation.

"It's my understanding a cousin went to pay the $34 fine, showed up with $35 and was told, 'Sorry you've got to have exact change,'" family attorney Chad McCoy said.
